Mice and rats

Trapping what's inside is half the job. The other half is closing the way in, or they come back.

A mouse fits through a gap the width of a pencil. We look for the gap at the roofline, the vents and where pipes enter, and we close it with metal, not foam.

What the work involves

  • Entry points: vents, pipes, the roofline and garage door

  • Traps set along the walls where they run

  • Sealing with metal mesh and sheet, not foam alone

  • A check visit to see that it held

How it goes

Seal first, trap second

  1. 01

Step 1: Find the entry points

A walk around the outside and a look in the attic and garage.

  2. 02

    Step 2: Set the traps

Along the walls where we found signs, checked on a schedule we give you.

  3. 03

    Step 3: Close the gaps

Metal mesh and sheet at each entry, once the traps stop catching.

  4. 04

    Step 4: Check it held

A return visit to confirm the work, and a note on what to watch.

Questions about mice and rats

How long does it take?

It varies with the house and how many are inside. We give you a schedule for the traps and the return visit.

Do you clean up afterward?

We remove what we trap and tell you how to clean areas safely. Heavy cleanup is a separate job.

Can you do this on a plan?

The Home and wood plan includes a yearly entry-point check. Treatment of an active problem is quoted separately.

Hear something in the attic?

Describe it or text a photo and we'll tell you where to start.
